The apricot tree and it`s fruit.
While the apricot tree
is easy to grow making it a good choice for those that want to have a
single fruit tree in their yard, the fruit is not only delicious, but
contains one of the highest concentrations of carotenoids of any food
along with other useful nutrition which makes it an excellent choice
for natural cures.
It is often debated where this tree has it`s origins. But it was
cultivated earliest in China, Japan and Armenia. Now this tree is
growing in many parts of the world. Unlike many fruit trees it does not
rely on other trees because they self polinate. They do require good
soil and yearly fertilization.
In addition to apricots having the
highest concentration of
carotenoids, it is also an
excellent source of lycopene and very high
in fiber.
