There are three types of Conjunctivitis.

  • Barberry can be used as an eye wash, but should be sufficiently diluted before use. While you may find this to be an effective remedy, you should consult a professional herbalist before use as this is a very strong herb.

    In Germany a medicine is made from berberine, one of the main components in this herb and prescribed for pink eye. But it is not available in the U.S.

    With some surpervision you can none the less make an eye wash that can greatly reduce symptoms and may help this condition heal.



  • Another Eye Wash. Boil a pint of water and add sea salt or mineral salt and let cool until only warm. Rinse affected eye or eyes with this eye wash.



  • Chomomile tea bags can help reduce inflamation making it very useful as one of your home remedies for pink eye. Place a bag into some warm (not hot) water around 3 minutes.

    Gently squeeze out excess water, but only just enough that it isn`t driping . Place on eye for five minutes. Do this 3 times a day until condition is cleared up.



  • Vitamin therapy can help. 1000 milligrams a day of vitamin C can reduce allergic pink eye. Use this vitamin therapy as one of your home remedies for pink eye.
